Transparent is an event series for Seoul’s trans community, founded in March 2022. It combines music by trans artists with sharing information. An expert said that to be legal it needs a licensed club or a performance venue, and these are the places that are disappearing.
Participants said Seoul has almost no promoters, agencies or managers outside K-pop. An expert said a DJ who runs parties may do management work without calling themselves a manager, and that the absence of job titles does not mean the absence of professional management.
A participant said only about two clubs are easy for disabled people to enter. The participant proposed designing venues for access from the start, as Soap did with a ramp and an elevator for a member who DJs from a wheelchair.
