44.0/ 100 · Seoul

The Korean minimum wage is ₩10,320 an hour.

The median club entry price is about ₩17,500, which is 1.7 hours of work. Across 55 festivals with paid tickets in 2025, the median price of a paid day ticket was around ₩110,000, which is 10.7 hours of work. Drinks, travel, tables, VIP tickets and free events are not counted.

There were 23 festivals offering free entrance, including the Seoul Drum Festival and the Seoul Forest Hip Hop Festival. Of the survey respondents, 63% said free or outdoor events in public space are important to the city’s nighttime culture.

A participant said “everyone has a friend who is a DJ”, so everyone is on some kind of guest list, and promoters have to invest money and content just to get the word out.
