Number of cultural conferences

We counted conferences with a published programme of at least three talks, panels or workshops. Half the score comes from the number of conferences. Half comes from how they spread across four areas: the nighttime economy, the music industry, culture and the creative industries, and bars and restaurants. Trade fairs, academic conferences and online-only events are not counted.

Amsterdam held over 25 conferences: 62% were about culture and the creative industries, most being the professional programmes of festivals, fairs, and art weeks. Conferences on the nighttime economy itself included a congress on event safety and a congress on sound levels and hearing protection in venues.
