Number of cultural conferences

We counted conferences with a published programme of at least three talks, panels or workshops. Half the score comes from the number of conferences. Half comes from how they spread across four areas: the nighttime economy, the music industry, culture and the creative industries, and bars and restaurants. Trade fairs, academic conferences and online-only events are not counted.

São Paulo had more than 30 conferences, of which 79% were about culture and the creative industries, but none were about the nighttime economy. Women’s Music Event held its tenth edition at the Biblioteca Mário de Andrade in June 2026, with about 30 panels, workshops and talks. SIM São Paulo, the largest music conference, plans over 100 panels.
