Non-music cultural events at night

We counted non-music cultural events that start or are open at 6pm or later, between 1 January 2025 and 31 October 2026. Half the score comes from the number of events. Half comes from how evenly they spread across eight cultural formats: art, theatre and opera, dance, film, comedy, literature, festivals and markets, and public and light art. Each unique event edition counts only once; repeat listings are excluded.

Over 60 unique cultural events at night, where 28% are theatre and opera. A total of 72% takes place in the Lagos (Eko) division.

Comedy shows are held at night, such as AY Live 2025 at the Eko Convention Centre, from 6pm to 11.30pm. November and December hold most of the city’s cultural calendar, including ART X Lagos and the Lagos Fringe Festival. Outside the Lagos division, most events at night are traditional festivals, such as Zangbeto in Badagry.
