Rehearsal & recording studios

Seoul has around 790 music studios that people can book to record or rehearse music; around 85 studios per million residents. Band rehearsal rooms and practice rooms are rented by the hour, and many belong to chains: Mupia music practice rooms have seven branches in Seoul, and Dream rehearsal rooms six.

Many rehearsal rooms are next to universities and named after them. Some recording rooms are for people who are not musicians, and let them book a room and record a song on their own.

A total of 87% of survey respondents in Seoul see the places that hold the scene together without hosting events as important: such as studios, record shops and radio stations.
